An All Blacks star has won New Zealand’s top rugby award for the third time in his career.
Flanker Ardie Savea was on Thursday recognised as New Zealand’s standout player for 2025 after claiming the prestigious Kelvin R Tremain Memorial Player of the Year award, which he also won in 2019 and 2023.
Lock Fabian Holland, scrumhalf Cam Roigard and centre Quinn Tupaea were the other nominees.
Savea also walked away with the All Blacks Player of the Year and Super Rugby Player of the Year awards.
The 32-year-old missed just one Test in 2025 and brought up a major milestone when he became the 15th All Black to reach 100 Test caps, achieving the feat in a 24-17 victory over the Springboks in Auckland.

Savea will spend next season on sabbatical in Japan, ruling him out of the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific tournament, but he is expected to return in time for the All Blacks’ Nations Championship campaign in July.
