A 58-year-old woman has been arrested after police recovered crystal meth with an estimated street value of R9,000 during an intelligence-led operation in the Sekhukhune District, Limpopo police said.
The arrest was made by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit (Narcotics), who acted on intelligence about alleged drug dealing at Machanganeni Village in the Apel policing area.
Police said officers searched the premises with the suspect’s consent and seized 90 sachets of crystal meth. The woman was arrested and charged with possession and dealing in drugs.
In a separate operation conducted on the same day, police arrested a 51-year-old man at Ga-Mokgotho Village in the Tubatse policing area.
Members of the Burgersfort Detectives, together with Tubatse Crime Prevention, recovered two black plastic bags containing dagga, 36 loose sachets and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The two suspects are expected to appear before the Lebowakgomo and Burgersfort Magistrate’s Courts respectively on Thursday, 8 January 2026.
Limpopo SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the arrests formed part of ongoing intelligence-driven operations aimed at combating drug-related crimes and dismantling drug distribution networks across the province.
