Four suspects arrested for illegal firearm possession in Bojanala

Police in the North West have, in the past few days, arrested four suspects in the Bojanala District for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh says this formed part of their intensified efforts to curb the illegal proliferation of firearms.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in Bleskop Informal Settlement after he was found with a rifle and ammunition in his possession for which he had no licence.
In Kroondal, a 22-year-old was found with a loaded, unlicenced AK-47 while in an adjacent room, another man was found in possession of ammunition.
“The team then proceeded to a final address in Marikana, where a 26-year-old suspect was arrested after police discovered a 9mm pistol with ammunition in his possession, which he could not account for. Preliminary investigations have linked this suspect to a murder case reported in Rustenburg during October 2025. All suspects are expected to appear before the Rustenburg and Brits Magistrate’s Courts respectively on Monday.”
