Ford Motor Company has announced that their recalling their Ford Ranger XLT and WildTrak vehicles while Toyota SA Motors recalls their Hino vehicles.

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) says the recall affects 438 Ford vehicles that were made available between February 18 and March 18 2025.

Ford further informed the commission that they’re also recalling 26 Ford Puma 2023 to 2024 model year vehicles, which were made available for sale between April 28, 2022 and September 22, 2023.

The commission’s head of Complaints and Investigations Prudence Moilwa says, “According to Ford, the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve in some of the affected vehicles may fail, which may result in a loss of engine power, typically at speeds below 24 kilometres per hour (km/h). Drivers may also experience warning indicators such as a check engine light appearing on the dashboard, weak acceleration, engine vibration, or the engine failing to start. A loss of engine power while driving may increase the risk of an accident.”

Moilwa adds, “A further recall notification received from Toyota SA Motors regarding its Hino 700 vehicles. Toyota informed the NCC that this recall affects 58 vehicles sold between 4 February 2025 and 9 November 2025. The affected vehicles have been detected that the fuel pump housing has an inappropriate surface treatment process done during production.”
