SAPS, SANDF sharpshooters compete in Ladysmith Rifle competition

Some of the country’s best sharpshooters in the South African Police Service (SAPS) and South South African Defense Force (SANDF) are putting their sharp shooting skills to the test at a Combat Rifle shooting competition in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.

Officers from KZN, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, North West and the Free State are vying for top honours in the two-day competition.
Police say Combat Rifle is a necessary exercise for law enforcement officers to maintain their combat-ready nature and keep their fitness levels at required standards.
Civilians who are part of Combat Rifle teams are also showcasing their marksmanship skills in the competition.
