A teenage girl has been killed and dismembered, allegedly by a teenage boy, at Pharare village outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.

According to police, the suspect, aged 17, went out with the victim, aged 16, on Friday night, where he allegedly killed her with a beer bottle in the bushes.

Police say the suspect had earlier reported that he and the victim were abducted and attacked by two men and two women.

The suspect, who was also hospitalised, had scratches on his body and wore blood-stained clothes. He has been taken to a juvenile prison for detention.
