The SAPS has confirmed that it has launched an immediate investigation into the conduct of one of its officers.

This after a social media video captured the female officer in full uniform allegedly returning a R2000 cash bribe to a member of the public.

The video has since gone viral.

The SAPS also says it has already identified the officer and instituted an immediate disciplinary process against her.

Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says, “The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, has strongly condemned the alleged conduct.

“The South African Police Service will not tolerate corruption in any form. Members who abuse their authority, compromise their integrity, or betray the trust placed in them by the public will be dealt with decisively. We are committed to ensuring that every allegation of corruption is thoroughly investigated.”
