Five suspects who were arrested while manufacturing drugs with an estimated value of more than R600 million at a farm in Musina in Limpopo will appear at the Musina magistrate’s court on Monday.

They each face charges of manufacturing and being in possession of illicit drugs.

The suspects were arrested on Friday during a multi- disciplinary operation.

The suspects include two Mexican nationals, two Zimbabwean nationals and a Malawian citizen.

Police arrested the five as they were in the process of processing crystal methamphetamine at the farm last week.

Police also seized an undisclosed amount of cash.

The intelligence-driven operation by the Hawks, Crime Intelligence, the Special Task Force, the South African Narcotics Bureau, and other partners began two months ago after a tip-off from the community.

The farm has now been cordoned off as investigations continue.

Police are on the search for more suspects in the alleged drug syndicate.

Meanwhile, two suspects will appear in the Phalala Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo after they were arrested in possession of illicit cigarettes.

The two were arrested at the Groblesbrug border post with illicit cigarettes worth two million rand.
