Lekompo musician Lehlohonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke has refuted claims that he bribed court officials and investigating officers for previous assault cases against him to be withdrawn.
Shebe Maburna says the charges were withdrawn at the Mankweng magistrate court in Limpopo, with consent from victims, but were later reinstated.

He is being cross-examined by the state prosecutor, Advocate Kgaugelo Lekoloane, in his bail hearing on new facts.
He told the court that the investigating officer, Captain Phaladi Makola, was not truthful when he mentioned that he bribed court officials.
“The reason the cases were reinstated was that I had allegedly given bribes to the magistrate, prosecutors, and investigating officers; the cop said he is even going to effect arrest on those people that particular week.”
