N2 Highway closed after cash-in-transit heist near NPC Cement Factory
The N2 highway near the NPC Cement factory has been closed to traffic following a cash-in-transit heist on Tuesday morning.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area at all costs and find alternative routes.
According to ALS Paramedics Garrith Jamieson they responded to reports of an active crime scene just after 6.30am.
“Multiple casualties are being attended to on scene, both security officials and bystanders were caught in this crossfire.”
Dramatic footage of the shooting and blowing up of the cash van has been shared on social media.
