Suspect arrested in connection with Table Mountain fire – SABC News
City of Cape Town authorities say a man has been arrested, suspected of arson relating to the wildfire affecting the Tokai and Silvermine sections of Table Mountain National Park.
The fire is not yet contained.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith says they received information of a person walking up the mountain in Clovelly.
He says law enforcement officers found the person close to a started fire in the mountain away from the fire line.
The man was arrested yesterday on charges of arson.

The blaze started on Friday.
Helicopters have been water bombing affected areas to assist ground crews. There has been no structural damage reported.
About 3 000 hectares of vegetation have been impacted by the fire.

Meanwhile, City of Cape Town’s traffic authorities have urged the public to avoid non-essential travel in areas affected by the ongoing wildfires
Ou Kaapse weg has reopened but a number of roads remain closed as a result of the fire in the South Peninsula.
Traffic spokesperson Maxine Bezuidenhout says the routes are likely to be impacted by traffic being diverted from the closed roads.
“These are, Westlake Drive and Boyes Drive, Tokai Road and Zwaanswyk Road, Old Boyes and Boyes Drive, Boyes and Anderson Road, Main Road and Old Boyes Drive, Main Road and Boyes Drive, Main and Clairvaux Drive.”
