Police still searching for vehicle of deceased constables – SABC News
Police are still searching for the vehicle in which three deceased officers had been travelling.
Bodies of SAPS constables, 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda, 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge were found in the Hennops River in Centurion yesterday.
They went missing on Wednesday last week.
The officers had been travelling from Bloemfontein to Limpopo on deployment.
Family members have identified the bodies of their loved ones at a mortuary in Pretoria.
The officers’ vehicle was last seen travelling in the northern direction on the N1.
Two other bodies were retrieved from the river.
One was of a police clerk and the other was in a state of decomposition.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola says; “The search is still continuing as we have not yet found their vehicle. We do not want to speculate at this stage. We have some closure in that we have found three members and the investigation will indicate as to what has happened but we do not want to jump into conclusion. But at this stage we can say we have seen where the vehicle went into the river.”
