UPDATE: Missing police vehicle found submerged in Hennops River – SABC News
Police have confirmed the discovery of the missing police vehicle that was carrying three deceased officers. The VW Polo was found submerged in the Hennops River in Centurion, Gauteng.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the wreckage was identified using the vehicle’s chassis and VIN numbers. Divers from the SAPS and Tshwane emergency services were involved in the recovery efforts.

“Yes, I can confirm that this is the VW Polo that the members were travelling in on that day,” says Mathe.
“We have confirmed, sub-aqua divers, together with Tshwane divers, checked the chassis and VIN numbers. This is indeed the vehicle we have been looking for.”
