Bulls block Irish club’s move for prop

Tighthead prop Mornay Smith is in high demand but the Vodacom Bulls are shoving back.

According to RugbyPass, Munster want to bring Smith to Limerick ahead of new coach Clayton McMillan’s arrival from the Chiefs.

Munster need a replacement for former Ireland tighthead Stephen Archer, who retired two weeks ago.

However, with Tielman Nieuwoudt set to join the Cheetahs and Khutha Mchunu already in Japan with the Mitsubishi Sagamihara Dynaboars, Bulls coach Jake White reportedly wants Smith to see out the final year of his contract.

The 27-year-old has made 11 appearances for the Bulls this season, nine off the bench.
