The Special Official Category 1 Funeral for ANC stalwart Gertrude Shope is underway at the Great Hall at WITS University in Johannesburg.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the eulogy.

Ma Shope, as she was affectionately known, passed away on Thursday last week at the age of 99.

Shope will then be laid to rest at West Park Cemetery.
