Two police officers injured during clash with WSU students – SABC News
Two police officers have been injured during a confrontation with protesting students at the Walter Sisulu University (WSU) in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
The students are protesting against the decision by the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court to grant murder suspect Manelisi Mampane bail.
Mampane allegedly shot and killed 24-year-old Sisonke Mbolekwa during an unrest at the institution in April.

Police spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana says four students have now been arrested.
“We can confirm that currently there’s four students that have been arrested and we also unfortunately have two police officers that have been injured during this scuffle with the students. They are currently receiving medical attention in hospital,” says Gantana.
