Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump hosted Netanyahu and his delegation over dinner at the White House last night amid growing hopes of a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, which would include the release of Israeli hostages.

In this exchange, the Israeli leader handed Trump a copy of the letter he wrote to the Nobel Prize Committee.

Netanyahu: The President has already realized great opportunities. He forged the Iran accords. He’s forging peace, as we speak, in one country and one region after the other. So, I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee. It’s nominating you for the Peace Prize, which is well deserved, and you should get it.”

Trump: Thank you very much. This I didn’t know well. Thank you very much. Coming from you, in particular, this is a very meaningful.

Netanyahu: Thank you for everything you do.

Trump: Thank you very much.
