Free State police have retrieved the body of 20-year-old, Andile Zungulwa who was reported missing from an initiation school, at Theunissen.

Zungulwa was reported missing from the initiation school by his aunt, last week. He had fled along with other initiates when the school was attacked by a group of men on the 27th of June.

Police Spokesperson, Mahlomola Kareli says two owners and three teachers from the initiation school were arrested following the opening of a missing persons case.

Kareli says they were initially charged with operating an illegal initiation school.

Twenty-one initiates were re-united with their families. The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) has confirmed that a charge of murder and defeating the ends of justice will be added when the suspects make their next court appearance, on 14th of July.
