In a shocking incident in KwaZulu-Natal, the house of former Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube was engulfed in flames on Sunday.
The devastating fire consumed her residence in Kloof, Durban, incinerating three cars parked nearby alongside the home itself.
Dube-Ncube, who led the province from August 2022 until May 2024, has not yet publicly addressed the incident, leaving many in her constituency and beyond concerned for her well-being.

The African National Congress (ANC) in KZN said the fire left a trail of destruction, severely damaging the home and personal belongings.
“While the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, investigations are currently underway by relevant authorities,” said the provincial ANC spokesperson, Fanele Sibisi.
Sibisi said the party will support Dube and pledge every form of support as she recovers from the incident.
“In the spirit of uBuntu and revolutionary compassion, we call on all sectors of society, regardless of political affiliation, to demonstrate empathy and solidarity. No one should face such devastation alone. We trust that justice will prevail, and we will continue to monitor developments as investigations progress,” added Sibisi.
Meanwhile, a request for information was submitted to the eThekwini Fire and Emergency Services, but there was no reply available by the time of publication.
