Four people were fatally shot in two separate incidents at New Brighton in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape last night. 

Police Spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana says the first incident occurred at Nikiwe Street where two males and a female were allegedly shot and killed by two unknown males who entered the premises and opened fire in the backyard. 

Gantana says all the victims were rushed to hospital but succumbed to their wounds.  

In the second incident, Gantana says a 52-year-old male was fatally shot. 

 “In the second incident, which occurred shortly after at Tshiwula Street, New Brighton, a 52-year-old male victim was fatally shot while seated inside his vehicle. Preliminary reports indicate that two unknown males approached the victim and fired multiple shots, striking him in the upper chest. The victim was declared dead at the scene. SAPS has opened two murder cases. Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in identifying and locating the suspects to come forward.”
