Ramaphosa to lead Women’s Day commemorations in Limpopo – SABC News
President Cyril Ramaphosa will lead the National Women’s Day commemorations in Tzaneen, Limpopo, today.
The event marks 69 years since the 1956 march by 20 000 women against the apartheid pass laws.
This year’s theme is “Building Resilient Economies for All,” highlighting women’s economic empowerment.
The commemoration will take place at Nkowankowa Stadium in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality.

Gauteng
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi will lead the provincial Women’s Day celebrations at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. The day will begin with a parade through the streets of Pretoria reenacting the 1956 women’s march.
Lesufi will be joined by Tshwane mayor Nasiphi Moya and other Gauteng MECs.
More than 1 200 female safety and security officers from SAPS, Emergency and Fire Services will embark on a parade to the seat of government to pay tribute to the brave women of 1956. The procession will start from Tshwane House next to Sammy Marks Square at 9am.
