Limpopo police officer arrested for alleged robbery at spaza shop – SABC News


A Limpopo police officer and his two accomplices have been arrested for alleged armed robbery at a spaza shop in Giyani.

Giyani police say two of the three suspects, an off-duty police officer and member of the public, were arrested at the crime scene.

The third suspect was arrested and then fled but was later apprehended at Xikukwani Village where the officer’s state firearm was also recovered inside his vehicle.

Investigations are continuing.

In another incident in Limpopo, a man shot and killed his wife and wounded a neighbour at Ditwebeleng Village outside Lebowakgomo.

Police say the man later turned the gun on himself and died on the scene.

Police say the wounded neighbour has been taken to hospital.

The wounded man was shot while trying to intervene in the quarrel between the couple.

Police also recovered a firearm and cartridges.
