Boks rise in World Rugby rankings

The Springboks have moved up in the World Rugby rankings after beating the Wallabies in Cape Town and the All Blacks’ defeat to Argentina in Buenos Aires.

The Boks leapfrogged Ireland into second spot following their 30-22 Rugby Championship victory at Cape Town Stadium.

The All Blacks remain No 1, having needed to lose to Los Pumas by at least 15 points for the Boks to reclaim top spot.

However, the gap between rugby’s greatest rivals is now just 0.71 points heading into their Rugby Championship double header – at Eden Park in Auckland on 6 September and in Wellington a week later.
