The family of a victim of gender-based violence Zenande Tshazibane says it’s disappointing for the family that there’s been no arrest for her murder.

25-year-old Tshazibane was allegedly raped and killed in her Nyanga home (on the Cape Flats) in June this year.

Her family says the murder happened just days after she had tried to obtain a protection order against her boyfriend.

Her sister Phelokazi Tshazibane says the family is seeking closure.

“Zenande was killed, strangled according to the post-mortem. We suspect the boyfriend, who has been on the run since the 23rd. The last time people saw her was on a Sunday before the incident.”
