Join the Mitchells Plain Prayer March: a call for unity and hope
This Sunday, the streets of Mitchells Plain will echo with the sounds of unified prayer, as over 150 churches across various denominations join Pastor Dalmondt for a large-scale Prayer March.
According to Dalmondt, this gathering will be peaceful and apolitical, aimed at restoring hope and spiritual unity in a troubled community.
According to Pastor Dalmondt, the march is “a clarion call… for God’s people to unite with one purpose to pray. No agendas. No reactions to current events. Just prayer.”
The march will begin at Highlands Drive, proceeding down the south-bound lanes of Eisleben Road and concluding at Spine Road. Along the way, participants will pause at major intersections including Lavender-, Morgenster-, and Wespoort Roads for moments of prayer and worship. The event focuses on themes of thanksgiving and intercession. It aims to declare Scripture over Mitchells Plain, an area deeply affected by violence, hopelessness, and systemic challenges.
“The timing is God’s timing,” said Dalmondt. “We are responding to a spiritual responsibility in the face of brokenness.”
Strict guidelines are in place: no political regalia, no motorcades, and only banners bearing messages of hope and Scripture will be allowed. With full support from the City, SAPS, and Public Order policing, the march promises to be a peaceful stand of faith.
Pastor Dalmondt hopes it will reignite hope, unity, and a renewed spiritual vision for Mitchells Plain and South Africa at large.
