The widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has spoken for the first time, telling supporters that his movement will continue.

Erika Kirk’s statement comes amid fears of rising political divisions in the wake of her husband’s murder in Utah on Wednesday.

The activist’s suspected killer is due in court in the coming days, with prosecutors saying the death penalty is “on the table”.

Erika spoke emotionally and forcefully, saying her husband’s legacy would continue, saying that he touched the lives of millions of supporters around the country.

She also spoke personally about not knowing how to tell their children aged three and one that their father was dead.

But she also said his mission would continue.

She has promised that his radio show, podcast, his campus college tour would continue despite his death.
