Simphiwe Zuma bail bid sees another postponement – SABC News

The bail ruling of triple murder accused, Simphiwe Zuma, has been postponed to the 3rd of October on Friday.

Magistrate Sandy Sindane apologised for the delay and cited that the court was not ready to issue the bail ruling yet.

Zuma, a traditional leader of the Nxamalala Tribal Authority, appeared briefly before the Howick Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal.

He is charged with the murder of Democratic Alliance (DA) chief whip Nhlalayenza Ndlovu who was gunned down at his home in Mpophomeni near Howick in 2023.

He is also facing two other murder charges in separate incidents.

DA provincial leader Francois Rodgers says they are disappointed with the postponement.

“This bail application has been going on for weeks it not months now. We’ve had all the evidence tabled on the bail application and yet once again its postponed. Remember at first, the magistrate did not want to proceed on this case, and then the magistrate was related to the accused – and now this…justice delayed is justice denied. We want the court and the evidence to be heard so that whoever was behind the murder of our councillor, the brutal murder, needs to be brought to book and sentenced and until this bail application is dealt with, we can’t deal with anything.”
