Slight petrol price increase from midnight Tuesday – SABC News
The Department of Minerals and Petroleum Resources has announced that a liter of 93 octane petrol will increase by one cent, while 95 octane is set to increase by eight cents per litre.
However, diesel will decrease by between eight and 10 cents a litre while illuminating paraffin will decrease by 15 cents a litre at retail level.
The Department’s Spokesperson Robert Maake says, “Petrol 93 octane will increase by one cent per litre. 95 octane would increase by eight cents per litre. Diesel will decrease by eight and 10 cents a litre.
Eliminating paraffin, it will also at retail level will decrease by 11 cents a litre. The reasons are slight increase in the prices of brent crude oil during the period under review, the international prices of all petroleum product decreased on average during the period under review. The rand appreciated on average against the US dollar and cushioned the fuel prices by 14 to 15 cents per litre.”
