A three-year-old child has been raped at Botlokwa in Limpopo, allegedly by a driver who was transporting her to crèche.

The child’s grandmother says the toddler started complaining of pain on her return from crèche.

She says she took the child to hospital where it was confirmed that she has been raped.

The grandmother, who will not be named to protect the identity of the minor, says local police have been helpful.

She says the family is hurting.

“I am deeply hurt because of this situation; I thought she is safe at the crèche. I am thankful for the police; they really assisted us. I want justice for my child. When I think about her it brings me a lot of pain. She is still young for what she has faced. We never received counselling.”
