Postbank and Master Services Agreement agreement extended – SABC News

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed that it has extended the notice period for the termination of the Master Services Agreement with Postbank for an additional three months.

The confirmation comes after Postbank announced that the agreement between the two entities remains firmly in place.

The termination of the agreement, where Postbank managed the cash collection services for social grants, was supposed to take place at the end of September following various concerns and allegations.

At the time, SASSA assured beneficiaries that grant payments will continue to be made.

SASSA Spokesperson, Andile Tshona, says the interests of the beneficiaries come first.

“The South African Social Security Agency can confirm that it has extended the notice period of the termination of the Master Services Agreement with PostBank for further three months. This decision has been made to allow the executive authority time and space to deliberate on various issues from the two entities and give guidance. SASSA would also like to reiterate its commitment to putting the interest of the millions of its beneficiaries first, whilst also ensuring improved customer service.”
