Former Limpopo cop slapped with life sentence for wife’s murder – SABC News
A former Limpopo police officer has been given life imprisonment by the High Court in Polokwane for the murder of his estranged wife.
Jeffrey Ntjana used his service pistol to shoot and kill his wife, Mmatlou Millicent Ntjana, at her home at Seshego Zone 8 in October three years ago.
The incident happened during an argument.
In a statement, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says: “The court heard that he and his wife were separated and no longer living together. On 12 October 2022, Ntjana went to his wife’s home in Seshego Zone 8, where an argument ensued. He then went to his vehicle to fetch his service firearm. Upon returning, he found that his wife had locked herself in the bedroom. He forced his way in, shot her, and fled the scene. She succumbed to her injuries.”
The NPA has welcomed the sentence, saying that justice needs to be served for victims of crime.
