Family leaves for France to fetch Nathi Mthethwa’s remains – SABC News

Family members of the late South African Ambassador Nathi Mthethwa have left for France to accompany his remains back home.

Mthethwa died last week after he reportedly fell from the 22nd floor of a hotel in Paris.

Family spokesperson Khulekani Mthethwa says the elders have left KwaMbonambi on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast for Pretoria.

This group will perform cultural rituals to bring Mthethwa’s spirit home while his body is being repatriated.

Meanwhile, Department of International Relations spokesperson Crispin Phiri says President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to make an announcement about the funeral.
