A group of non-commissioned officers in the police has completed a new two-year course by the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority to equip them to face modern crime and evolving technology.

The programme is equivalent to a diploma, and includes training in legal frameworks, crime prevention, detection and crowd control techniques.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Authority Executive Manager Juwayria Amod says the qualification was nearly 10 years in the making.

Speaking at the sidelines of the ceremony, officer Thembelihle Sibiya ,says she’s ready to serve her country- and adds that using technology can help police resolve cases faster.
