Ramaphosa’s Malaysia visit strengthens trade, investment relations – SABC News


President Cyril Ramaphosa has wrapped up his visit in Malaysia where he also met leaders of different industries, with the aim of promoting South Africa as a reliable investment partner. The president also attended the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) summit.

 

The ASEAN summit is a gathering of powerful Asian countries which has attracted many powerful global leaders such as US President Donald Trump.

South Africa as a strategic country in Africa, has been invited as a special guest, with Ramaphosa using the meeting to strengthen trade and investment relations.

Ramaphosa was also able to share details on South Africa’s readiness to host the G20 Summit in November, with some of the members of the ASEAN group expected to attend the gathering of the industrialised nations.
