Seven people have lost their lives in Bassonia, south of Johannesburg, after a minibus taxi collided with a bakkie.

Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Spokesperson Xolani Fihla says multiple injuries have also been reported.

Fihla says, “A fatal accident was reported along Comaro Road, between Tarentaal Avenue and Pieter Acryod Avenue, in Bassonia, south of Johannesburg, involving two vehicles, a Toyota Quantum minibus taxi and a bakkie. Multiple injuries have been reported with seven fatalities confirmed from the minibus taxi.”
