Reiger Park shooting | Masemola to meet Gauteng police leadership

National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola is expected to meet Gauteng’s Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana, following a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of six people in Reiger Park.

Police national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said Masemola will also announce the deployment of additional officers to the area “to prevent and combat further violence.”

Six people were killed and three others wounded in what police described as a drive-by shooting on Saturday night, in Williams Road in Reiger Park, Boksburg.

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said Kekana had already mobilised resources following the incident.

“It is reported that in the afternoon of Saturday, November 1, 2025, two vehicles, a silver Polo and a black Polo, came to this area and started shooting randomly,” she said.

Nevhuhulwi added that the motive was not yet known but investigations were under way and a manhunt had been launched for the suspects.

“The Acting Provincial Commissioner has appealed to the community of Reiger Park to allow law enforcement to do their job and work together with them by reporting any criminal activities on the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111 or anonymously give tip-offs on MySapsApp,” she said.
