Former US VP Cheney dies age 84 – SABC News

Former US Vice-President Dick Cheney has died.
The 46th Vice President was 84 years.
Cheney lost his life due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.
His wife of 61 years, Lynne, his daughters, Liz and Mary, and other family members were with him as he passed.
As Vice President from 2001 to 2009, Cheney fought for the expansion of the power of the presidency.
He was a strong advocate for the 2003 invasion of Iraq and was among the most outspoken of the Bush administration officials warning of the danger from Iraq’s alleged stockpile of weapons of mass destruction.
His family says he was a great man who taught his children and grandchildren to love his country and to live with courage, honour and kindness.
