Ramaphosa pushes for global support for struggling nations at G20

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on all G20 leaders to urge the global community to extend a hand to all countries with significant challenges to rebuilding.

In his closing remarks during the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Sunday, Ramaphosa says the G20 has pledged to extend support to low and middle-income countries as they confront debt vulnerabilities.

He adds that when South Africa took up the G20 presidency, it pledged to mobilise and strengthen disaster resilience and response, saying climate-induced natural disasters spare no country.

President Ramaphosa says their toll weighs heavily on those who don’t have the means to rebuild.
