KZN gears up for bumper summer tourism season post COVID-19
KwaZulu-Natal is gearing up for what officials say could be its biggest summer tourism season since the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is expected that more than one million domestic and more than 34 000 international visitors to arrive next month.
This is expected to lead to an injection of over R13 billion into the local economy.
KwaZulu-Natal Tourism spokesperson Pinky Radebe says the province is ready to handle a huge number of visitors.
“We are expecting over a million domestic trips into KwaZulu-Natal this December. Our summer starts from October until March, and so tourism could just inject more than 13 billion into the KZN economy this festive season.”
