Modack denies links to phone used to track Colonel Kinnear
Alleged gang boss, Nafiz Modack has denied that cellphones that were used to pinging Anti-Gang Unit detective, Colonel Charl Kinnear belonged to him.
During cross examination in the High Court in Cape Town, Modack claimed someone else must have manipulated his phone and changed his Truecaller ID.
Modack and 14 others face over 100 charges including the attempted murder of Cape Town Criminal Lawyer, Advocate William Booth and the murder of Anti Gang Unit Detective, Charl Kinnear.
Judge Robert Henney says it cannot be that a person who appears to be a foreign national could have got hold Modack’s phone and communicated with Killian in the pinging of Kinnear.
“That number communicated with Killian communicated with that number. That’s right my lord. The others you don’t have issue with in order to track Kinnear excepts the True Caller story the others you don’t have an issue with in other words that is objective evidence in other words and what you are saying with regards to True Caller, it did not pop up on True Caller randomly, it was planned there on True Caller by Captain Du Plessis. ”
