Tshwane Mayor says shutting down brothels reduces human trafficking
City of Tshwane Mayor Dr. Nasiphi Moya says shutting down notorious brothels around Pretoria forms part of the city’s 10-point safety and crime-combating strategy for the festive season.
Metro Police, with the support of other law enforcement agencies, recently closed two illegal brothels in the Tshwane area and arrested several suspects, including foreign nationals.
A group of women believed to be victims of human trafficking were also rescued.
Moya says shutting down the Ipi Tombi brothel will help reduce human trafficking in the area.
