In an effort to accommodate the public’s needs, certain Driver’s License Testing Centers (DLTCs) will be extending their services on weekends in January 2024. This initiative aims to assist individuals with various drivers’ license and vehicle-related transactions.
Key Services Offered:
- Renewal of Drivers Licences
- PrDP Application (New and Renewals)
- Learners and Drivers License Bookings (Specific Centers)
- Collection of Drivers Licence Cards
- Learners Licence Tests
- Driver’s Licence (Code A) Tests (Specific Centers)
- Motor Vehicle Licence Disc Renewals (Select Centers)
Documents Required for Processing Applications:
- Identity Document/Smart Card (and a copy)
- Proof of Residence (not older than 3 months)
- Drivers Licence (if applicable)
- 2x ID-sized Photographs (black and white or color)
- R250 for Drivers Licence issuance
- R90 for Temporary Drivers Licence and 1x additional ID-sized Photograph
Proof of Residence Considerations:
- Must not be older than 3 months
- Must clearly state the physical address
- If residing with parents, a letter by the parent and proof of residence is required
- If leasing property, the lease agreement must be attached

- Pinetown DLTC: Open on 06-07, 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28 January 2024

- Ballito Licensing Office/RA: Open on 13 and 27 January 2024 for vehicle license disc renewals
- Verulam DLTC: Open on Saturdays 06, 13, 20, and 27 January 2024
- Winklespruit DLTC: Open on Saturdays 06, 13, 20, and 27 January 2024
- Umhlanga Licensing Office: Open on Saturdays 06, 13, 20, and 27 January 2024
- Kwadukuza DLTC & Motor Licensing: Open on Saturdays 06 and 20 January 2024
Note: Only cash payments are accepted at certain centers, and customers are encouraged to bring an eye test certificate from an optometrist.
