The Whetstone community is urged to come together as the search intensifies for 34-year-old Jerome Pillay, pictured above, who has gone missing under alarming circumstances. Pillay’s family reached out to Reaction Unit SA on Tuesday at 11:17, desperately seeking assistance to locate him.

According to the distressing report from Pillay’s family, he was allegedly bound to a light pole and subjected to assault by two members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) in Whetstone, KZN, on Friday, January 5, 2024, around 21:30. Following the assault, witnesses claim that Pillay’s lifeless body was loaded into a black vehicle (make and registration unknown) and driven away from the area. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown.

The gravity of the situation is compounded by reports that residents who witnessed the incident were too afraid to contact law enforcement due to concerns of potential retaliation. For reasons undisclosed, additional information regarding the matter is being withheld.
