A scholar transport driver has been shot dead near a primary school in Sophiatown, Johannesburg.

Eyewitnesses say the driver was shot when he was dropping off school children this morning.

Police are at the scene.

A parent Christy du Plessis says, “He dropped off the kids at Christian de Wet School as he was driving, he dropped them off already, and he was at the stop sign that they shot him there. My son has been traveling with him since he was in Grade One. All the kids are safe, he had dropped off everyone already. The police are there .”
