Kruger National Park packed over Easter weeekend – SABC News
The Kruger National Park is extremely packed with visitors this Easter long weekend in Mpumalanga.
One of the park’s gates, the Crocodile Bridge has already reached its quota to allow more visitors inside the park.
The visitors say they decided to visit the park to connect with nature while enjoying their Easter long weekend.
One of the visitors had this to say, “I stay in Pretoria and there is no game there, we only see birds and stuff, so I came here to see some Impalas, Springboks and large game animals such as rhinos, elephants and buffaloes.
Another tourist says it is a good weekend to get out and get together with family and friends and just connect with nature.

Meanwhile, Kruger National Park says it has tightened its security to ensure the safety of their visitors and game.
The park’s head of protection services, Phindile Makhuvele says those who will break the law will be arrested.
Makhuvele says they have tightened security and other relevant measures with law enforcement stakeholders including their ranger services, the protection services, environmental investigation together with the South African Police Services (SAPS) and South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
“What we need to do is remind our guests about the rules printed on the back of their permits. These rules guide their behavior in the park – for example, the speed limit is 50 km/h on tar roads and 40 km/h on gravel roads. They also need to be mindful of and respect other guests,” adds Makhuvele.
