MKP may discipline Shivambu over Bushiri visit: Expert – SABC News

A leadership and governance expert Professor Mazwe Majola believes that the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) is likely to take disciplinary action against its Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu.

Criticism is mounting against Shivambu for his recent visit to self-proclaimed prophet and fugitive Shepherd Bushiri’s church in Malawi.

Bushiri is wanted in South Africa for crimes including rape and fraud.

Professor Majola says the party is probably already considering how to handle the issue.

“I do believe that the MKP will take disciplinary measures against its Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu for putting the organisation into disrepute because what Floyd has done even though he went there at a personal level, but he is a leader, he is a face of the organisation, MKP, as the Secretary-General. So, I definitely envisage that they will take this very seriously and discipline him for putting the party into disrepute.”
