Court to hear if accused in Meyiwa trial has legal representation – SABC News
The High Court in Pretoria is expected to hear whether one of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa trial will still have legal representation.
Muzi Sibiya was left without legal representation after the death of his lawyer Thulani Mngomezulu in December last year.
Last week, defence counsel Charles Mnisi told the court that he might not be ready to proceed, after being granted yet another postponement.
Five men are on trial for gunning down Meyiwa in Vosloorus, Gauteng, in October 2014.
After a two-month adjournment granted to allow defence counsel Charles Mnisi sufficient time to prepare for the representation of Sibiya, Mnisi informed the court last week that he was still not ready to proceed.
A reluctant Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng stated that he was granting a final postponement.
However, Advocate Mnisi hinted that he still might not be ready.
