Bok Viking back for Champs Cup battle

Leinster’s Investec Champions Cup final push has been bolstered by the return of two-time Springbok world champion RG Snyman.

The towering lock is back in full training ahead of Saturday’s semi-final against Northampton Saints at the Aviva Stadium, according to Leinster boss Leo Cullen.

Snyman hurt his leg against Ulster two weeks ago, and the 30-year-old’s availability is a boost after Leinster’s shock defeat at Scarlets in round 16 of the Vodacom URC.

He has featured in 17 matches and scored four tries since joining the club this season from Irish rivals Munster, where the former Vodacom Bulls skyscraper managed just 20 appearances in four years.

Ryan Baird and James Ryan provide Leinster with additional reinforcement, the Ireland internationals both progressing in their recovery timelines ahead of facing a Saints outfit buoyed by a 48-31 win over Bristol Bears.
