Modi chairs meeting with security as Pakistan tensions flare-up – SABC News

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a special meeting with the defence minister, heads of armed forces, and the national security advisor in New Delhi on Friday in the wake of the seething tensions with Pakistan.

The meeting came hours before India’s army reported Pakistan’s drone attacks on a consecutive day along its western border as both countries have accused each other of launching new military attacks on Friday.

Dozens have been killed in both countries and in India, the popular IPL T20 cricket tournament has been suspended as hostilities rise between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
