Three killed, several injured in bus crash off Tongaat bridge – SABC News
Three people have died and at least 12 others were seriously injured after a bus plunged off a bridge in Maidstone, oThongathi, north of eThekwini in KwaZulu-Natal, this morning.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a motorist driving along Gopalall Hurbans Road reported the incident after witnessing the bus veer off the bridge and crash through the safety barriers.
On arrival at the scene, RUSA officers found the bus lying on its side, approximately 25 metres below the bridge.
Three people were confirmed dead and several others were seriously injured.
Emergency services remain on the scene and are attending to the injured. The area is still being assessed.
